real estate is another story…. and it is kinda in the tank… i can tell because half the folks in my office building got laid off today…they work in real estate… the market is dead stopped….
my assistant came to me and said something along the lines of ..
“Whew..im so glad i dont work for *insert real estate / mortgage firm here*”
i didnt have the heart to tell her that….. shit rolls down hill…. if things dont pick up ….i’ll prob let her go in about two weeks…..
when folks stop buying houses….
stop refinancing houses ….
stop feeling drunk on equity…. ummm
they stop buying other stuff too…
they tighten their belts…
and umm… that means me too….
on the bright side..
jenna jameson was on LA Ink last night… her new tattoo turned out cool…. it says…I am not afraid.. I was born to do this.…. scrolling across her shoulders…it is..according to jenna… a quote from joan of arc… i think it is cool jenna knows who joan of arc is…
BUT….
the best part of all…. she seemed …normal-ish…..ok ok…she stilll has way tooo much collagen in her mouth… and a teeny bit goofy…. but generally ..she didnt seem coked out…or crazy ana thin…im relieved…ive been kinda worried bout the girl…
ill have to look up WHEN they filmed it…
The weird part was…how the whole show….they completely skirted the issue of her being a pornstar….the word “adult” or porn never even came up…. they portrayed her as a “business woman”/producer… which is alll true….and im not trying to take away from what she has accomplished..because she has truly revolutionized the porn industry…but lets face it… she aint selling mary kay…
ok ok..i havent checked recently…she might have a girl named mary kay….

OMG I love you.
You know, I’m amazed at how many places this real estate fallout is touching. And frankly, I stand by this statement: Whatever the news tells people to believe, they will believe. All that is required is some positive news on real estate and it will help pick things back up. Unless of course, you were one of the ones dealing in sub prime mortgages…then you’re fucked!

Bah. That’s crazy talk. Everyone who is in dire straits because of real estate or any of its associated industries is there for their own doing. I’m “in the business” and even I made preparations to save money and get out. The people getting the sub prime mortgages, christ, they are really getting what they deserve. How on earth do you borrow hundreds of thousands of dollars and not read every tiny letter of fineprint? Oy!

v.. to me…the subprime market smacks of predatory lending ..
the industry folks targeted the uneducated, and financially illiterate took advantage of that ignorance and ..now…its catching up…time to pay the piper…
and i think they didnt read all the tiny letters because…umm… this is the same segment of people targeted by Eastern Motors…where your job is your credit.. and loan til payday companies…. and im guessing more than a few of em ..dont read the big wurds..
and there was def. enough greed …on both sides..to go around…

Life is all about taking risks and living with how things turn out. If you bought in with a sub-prime hoping to flip it some day, hey – that’s all on you. Don’t cry about it now. And yeah, a lot of the folks getting cars at Eastern’s bought those house loans too. It all gets back to people using some common sense when they buy stuff. Well that and individual responsibility. Nobody held a gun to their heads when they were signing for something they couldn’t afford.
I took out an unsecured loan last year to get rid of some credit card debt and the loan officer was shocked, shocked I say, that I turned down her offer of more money. She was willing to give me 5K more than I needed. I knew what I was willing to take on and almost had to walk out to get the lesser amount. Silly.

TC..i know what you mean..my credit card comp kept upping my limit..and i kept calling them saying ..no ..i dont want or need that much..there was NO PROTOCOL for putting my limit back where i wanted it!! WTF??? and yeah..she should see the writing on the wall…she hasnt done anything but surf the net for three mos.. oh yeah..except when she made cookies on her cars dashboard…
